Dolores Laverne Nicar Click for Condolences      Printable Version
1931 - 2014

Dolores Laverne NicarSurrounded by her loving family, Dolores Nicar, 83, of Silsbee passed away September 12, 2014 at Harbor Hospital in Beaumont.

Dolores was born in Honey Island, Texas on July 21, 1931. She was the daughter of Alva and Pearl Kimmey. She was retired from Nederland ISD and was a long time resident of Silsbee.

Dolores was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and had many cherished friends. She possessed a kind, caring and unselfish spirit that touched everyone she knew. Dolores loved life, loved people, and loved to entertain. She was an exceptional cook and never ran out of delectable recipes to share. Few have served the Lord so unselfishly and lovingly as Dolores. We will miss her quick wit, can do style of efficiency, no nonsense solutions, kindness, loyalty, wisdom, faithfulness and love. It was a privilege just to have been in her presence and under her patient and righteous influence. Dolores faced her last days as she lived her entire life: with strength, with grace and with courage. May we rejoice knowing that God has now drawn her to Him to dwell forever.

Dolores is preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, Joe Fuller.

She is survived by Jack Nicar, her husband of 37 years; daughter Kathy Broussard of Dallas; son Randy Fuller and wife Debra of Silsbee; step children Michael Nicar and wife Leslie of Plano, James Nicar of Texas City, Tracy Nicar and wife Marissa of Kirbyville, Nancy Dickinson and husband Damon of Sugarland; sister Willa Haygood and husband Charles of Lake Kiowa, Maxine Woosley of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas and Hester Busby and husband Dennis of Kirbyville; grandchildren Carli Ard and husband Heath, Bethany Racobs, Haley Fuller, Ericka Dickinson, Allison Dickinson, Shawn Dickinson, Paige Nicar, Blake Nicar, Grant Nicar, Shelby Nicar, Garrett Nicar and Amy Nicar and great grandchildren Matthew Ard, Adam Ard and Mandy Ard.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Care Center of Silsbee.

My deepest sympathy to each of you. I am sorry for your loss. I always enjoyed seeing and chatting with Delores at church when we came to Silsbee. I will have fond memories of her. My mother will miss her, too. Thoughts and prayers to you, comfort, strength, and peace for all the days ahead. Her dear friend Betty Crosson lived here in Niceville, Fl. till she died. What a small world.
