Funeral services for Thomas Edwin Lawson, 90, of Buna will be 2:00 pm Monday, September 29 at the 1st Assembly of God Church in Kirbyville under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home with interment following at Antioch Cemetery in Buna. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm Sunday at the church.
Mr. Lawson passed away in the Veterans Hospital in Temple September 24, 2014.
Thomas is a native of Dallas and a longtime resident of Buna. He was a retired veteran proudly serving his country in the US Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Mr. Lawson was also a retired minister.
He is preceded in death by his parents James Bethel and Odell Johnson Lawson; wife Ruth Lawson; son Jerry Lawson; nine brothers and one sister.
Survivors include sons Thomas Lawson Jr. and wife Cindy of Corpus Christi, David Lawson and wife Glenda of Liberty Hill; daughter Linda Kucker and husband Robert of Buna; grandchildren Michelle, Michael, Mark, Terri, Kim, Sarah, Ryan, Hannah, Jordan, Justin and Kayla; Twelve great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Mr. Lawson will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
