James Robert Powers, 71, of Proctorville, Ohio passed away Thursday, October 9, 2014 at St. Marys Medical Center, Huntington, WV. He was born April 19, 1943 in Huntington, WV son of the late Wade and Edith Hayton Powers. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant sister; one sister Janet Truesdell; and two brothers Earl Powers and Paul Powers. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He is survived by his wife Stella Powers; two daughters Paula and Terry Duty, and Michelle and David Barker; one son Robert Powers all of Proctorville, Ohio; seven grandchildren Tyler, Zachary, Ryan, Chase, Kimi, Austin and Travis; two brothers Keith Powers, and Jerry (Brenda) Powers; two sisters Linda Burcham and Ruth (Ronnie) Whitley all of Proctorville, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. There will be a private family service. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.

Ruth, and Stella, I'm very sorry to hear this news. I have known the powers family for a very lost time. He will be miss a lot but he is now with the lord. One day you will see him again but in the meantime he will watch over you. Love Margie and Family.
