Dear Larry, I am sorry to not have visited you before you died. My intentions were good until I lost my own son in June. Good times we had buddy, those H.S.and Grand Rapids days are not to be forgotten. Salad days of our wonderful youth! Soul mates and our shared love of music are of the greatest connections on Earth. I am Happy to have shared a short time with you. I have these treasured memories in my heart and mind. My fellow class musician, RIP man. Love, Jennifer

I learned of Larry's passing yesterday. I'm so sorry for your family. I feel lucky I was able to see him at my mom's funeral two years ago. May you find peace in this time of loss.

The Greenvillle class of 1970 could never forget the talent and enthusiasm Larry had for music. He loved performing and sharing his insight and creativity with all of us. I had the privilege of performing with Larry with the Village Green singers, the choir and band for several years. He was always the center of attention, he wanted everyone to have a good time just like he was. To us it seems his life was cut short, but oh what a life he lived. He got to touch so many lives with his love of music. Even when life's road got rough, Larry found ways to enjoy music and share his knowledge. I pray Larry's family finds comfort in knowing how fondly he will be remembered by so many.

I got to know Larry after we both moved from Michigan to L.A. He was one of the most talented, upbeat, helpful guys I've ever known. He was the whole package: musician/songwriter/arranger/producer and friend. Even in later years, when his health started to fail, he somehow managed to keep his dignity intact and his (and our) spirits up. I don't know how he did it -- I doubt the rest of us could have. Rock on, Lar!

We were sad to hear the news of Larry's passing. He was such a great guy. We remember so many good times with Larry in his years out here in Los Angeles. He was always a good friend and so interested in life. We played guitars together and taught music lessons while in high school and that continued years later in California. He will be missed. Our love goes out to his family and friends.

My heart is sorrowed with the news of Larry's passing. I will pray for the Staffen family. I was introduced to Larry by his brother Jeff of who I was in a band with back in the mid 90's to 2000. Love you Staffen family. Please take care. David Heimburger
