Ida Barker Knight Click for Condolences      Printable Version
1923 - 2014

Our loving Mama, Ida Barker Knight, 90, of Chesapeake, Ohio, widow of Luther Knight, left her earthly home to go with the Lord on Friday October 24, 2014 at home surrounded by her family. She was born November 11, 1923 in Huntington, WV to the late John and Sadie Barker. Ida was the past owner of Knights Hauling and Trucking of Chesapeake, Ohio. Besides her husband of 61 years, Ida was preceded in death by her son Carlos Knight Sr.; grandson Ricky Fuller; granddaughter Shawna Knight; son-in-law Niles Clark; three sisters; and four brothers. Left to mourn this wonderful, devoted mother, sister, granny, great and great- great granny, are her children Betty and Bill Fuller of Waverly, Ohio, Mary and Joe Thompson of Chesapeake, Ohio, Tim and Diana Knight of Proctorville, Ohio, Patty and John France of Wichita, Kansas, Brenda and Arthur Bell of Proctorville, Ohio, and Pam Clark of Milton, WV; her sisters Catherine Rice of Proctorville, Ohio, Mary Wright of Mechanicsburg, Ohio, and a host of family and friends. Ida fought a long, courageous battle with Alzheimers. Funeral service will be conducted 4 p.m. Monday October 27, 2014 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory Proctorville, Ohio by Pastor Clyde Carter. Burial will follow in Union Hill Cemetery, Chesapeake, Ohio. Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday October 26, 2014 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio. Mama was a true Proverbs 31 woman-her price was above rubies. Daddy always trusted in her. She was clothed with strength and honor. She feared the Lord and we children shall forever rise up and call her blessed. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.

Mary and Joe so sorry for your earthly loss but she is walking the streets of gold and shouting. Even though she will be missed God called another angel home to be with him.

So sorry for your loss. Praying for your family in this time of grief. I didnt know Ida personally, but thru knowing her daughter Patty, I know she has to be an amazing woman of faith. She has raised a strong, beautiful woman who has passed down the teachings of her mother to her children & grandchildren....setting an example for many. Hugs & prayers to the France family & all the family & friends of Mrs. Knight.

Granny was one of the best people I could have ever met. Granny knew a lot about the Lord and a lot about love, but mostly she knew how to love the Lord. I will miss Granny, we all will, but I know that all the Lords promises Granny is living up and loving with her true loves. Her husband and her Jesus Christ. Our greatest condolences go out to all of the family and all of the friends of this extraordinary woman. I will lock the memories I have with her deep in my heart so that they shall never be forgotten.
