My sincere condolences to the family of Elsie and those who knew and loved her. I had the honor and privilege of being mentored by Elsie for the past 15 years in local history and genealogy, and in recent years serving with her on the Flat River Museum and Historical Society board. She was a remarkable woman and a dear friend. She will be missed.

I'm sorry to hear of the loss of Elsie. I met Elsie at the Ore-Ida functions long ago. It was a pleasure to have known both her and Richard. My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time.

Irwin and Diane, my heart goes out to you. I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. She will be sadly missed. Very kind and generous women. The old neighborhood won't be the same without her. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families.

Our family offers our most sincere sympathy. Elsie and Richard were neighbors of my late grandmother, Hazel, and were kind, thoughtful people, always. Elsie was quite possibly Greenville's greatest historian although she would not accept that label I'm certain. She knew more about Greenville's historic past than anyone I've ever met and was always willing to share what she knew with locals or far away strangers, many from Denmark. Her kindness and dedication to Greenville will be missed.
