I am sorry to hear of Susan's passing. I rode horses with her in the 1970's and 1980's out at Villa Vida Stables. She was a master horsewoman and had the biggest heart.

Susan was my friend and little sister for forty one years. I will miss her, but Mittie and I promised Susan that we would take care of Randall when she has passed. Randall will have a place in our family as long as we live.

Susan and I had horses at Villa Vida. Though we lost touch over the years, I often thought of her and all the others during that time. So sorry to hear of her passing.

Even that I only had susan for a short time we became friends and not a client. I will miss her she was a good person and good friend to me.

Nancy Susan Adkins, 59, of Lavalette, WV passed away Thursday November 27, 2014 at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, WV. She was born April 20, 1955 in Charleston, WV to the late Harry Willard and Lucy Taylor Anderson Dunfee. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Henry Dunfee, M.D. Susan was a certified horse trainer where she received a three time award for the National Grand Champion in the three and five gated class. She is survived by her husband Randall Adkins; two sons James (Jenni) Dunfee and James (Erica) Leadman; five grandchildren Jacob and Lucy Dunfee, James, Chaz and Makayla Leadman; and lifelong friends Damon and Mildred Slone and Marcy Gajic. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday December 2, 2014 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio by Pastor Don Irby. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday December 2, 2014 at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.
