Chester Marty Martin, 78, of Chesapeake, Ohio passed away Friday December 5, 2014 at St. Marys Medical Center, Huntington, WV. He was born August 3, 1936 in Henlawson, WV to the late Boss and Mae Wimmer Martin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter Joey Mae Martin; daughter Sherry Martin; and two sisters Sylervine Dingess and Ocie Nelson. He was a retired meat cutter from Kroger. He was an Army veteran. Marty was a member of Proctorville Masonic Lodge #550 F & AM, American Legion Post #640 Chesapeake, and the DAV of Huntington. He was a Democratic Committee Chairman. He is survived by his wife Loretta Jean Ross Martin; one son Terry and Debbie Martin of Kitts Hill; one daughter Christy and Bubbie Ferguson; Ohio; five grandchildren Derrick , Brittany, and Paul Martin, Shannon Fuller, and Brook Ferguson; four brothers Clayton, Butch, Snooker, and Buster Martin; one sister Ida Mae; several nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday December 8, 2014 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio by Pastor Tom Jones. Chesapeake American Legion #640 and Proctorville Masonic Lodge #550 will conduct military graveside rites. Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens, Miller, Ohio. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday December 8, 2014 at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall
