1933 - 2014
John Pete Jeffers, of Chesapeake, Ohio went home to be with our Lord at his home on Monday, December 8, 2014, at the age of 81, with family by his side. He was born May 12, 1933, at home, in Chesapeake, Ohio where he resided his entire life. He was the son of the late Hudson Wade and Thelma Thornton Jeffers. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son Kent Jeffers; siblings Lois Mullins, June Hayes, Patricia Peselnick, Tommy Jeffers and Jerry Jeffers. He is survived by his wife Linda Wilkes Jeffers whom he married in 1960; one daughter Valerie Jeffers; one son Brent (Beverly) Jeffers all of Chesapeake, Ohio; grandchildren Cassie (Nate) Hefner of Huntington, WV, Brittany Jeffers of Chesapeake, Ohio, Travis Jeffers also of Chesapeake, Ohio, and Monty Nichols of South Point, Ohio including a special little girl in his life that he watched grow up who was like a granddaughter to him, Jailyn Black of Proctorville, Ohio; four great grandchildren Noah and Sophie Hefner of Huntington, WV and Lakin and Ciera Nichols of South Point, Ohio; two sisters Sherry (Larry) Dexter of Proctorville, Ohio and Mary Alice Kennedy of Ashland, Ky; his mother-in-law Maxine Wilkes of Chesapeake, Ohio; his good friends Kyle Saunders, Bob Gibson and Gus Burcham; and many other friends and family members that will forever have precious memories to cherish of times past. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy where he received a honorable discharge in 1953. He worked for INCO Alloys International, Inc. where he retired after thirty years of service. Among his many accomplishments, Pete was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and was a member of the Proctorville Masonic Lodge #550 F & AM. He was also a member of Shriners International. He was a 20+ year member of Community Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. Pete loved his Church family and was a mentor in the Christian faith to many. Funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, December 12, 2014 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio with Pastor Carl Black and Pastor Jason Adams officiating. He will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Chesapeake Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake, Ohio. Visitation will be held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, December 11, 2014 at the funeral home. I just saw where Pete passed away. Please accept my deepest sympathy on your loss. Pete was a very sweet man. I met him when I worked @ Montys in Chesapeake. He will be TRUELY missed by all who knew him. Linda & Brent, I will pray for comfort.

I'm so sorry for your loss Linda. My father, Marvin Fulton, absolutely loved him and always told us stories from his younger days. It was like he was part of our family. May God send His comfort to you that only He can give.
