Wanda Berrymam JonesMrs. Wanda Jones, of Evadale, went to be with her Lord and Savior surrounded by family and loved ones at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont on Thursday, December 18, 2014. Wanda was born July 22, 1947 in Silsbee, TX. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, sister-in-law, and friend.

She is survived by her husband Jerry Lynn Jones of Evadale; daughter Keisha Christian and husband Kyle of Silsbee; granddaughters Kourtlyn, Karigan, Kylan, and grandson Karson Christian, all of Silsbee. She also leaves two brothers, Billy Berryman and wife Sarah of Orange, and Franky Berryman and wife Eilleen of Baytown. Wanda is also survived by brothers-in-law Bobby Jones and wife Gayle, Jimmy Jones and wife Joyce, David Jones and wife Cheryl; sisters-in-law Pat Jones, and Linda McMillan and husband C J, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by parents Bill and Gladys Berryman, daughter Holly Jones and brother-in-law Roby Jones.

Wanda was a 1965 graduate of Silsbee High School. She held the position of Silsbee City Secretary for 5 years.

She worked as Evadale ISD bookkeeper for 25 years before retirement.

Mrs. Jones was a member of Central Baptist Church in Evadale. She loved her church and was active in many capacities. Wanda was instrumental in starting the "Hanging of the Greens" ceremony at the church which is enjoyed each Christmas season. Wanda had the vision to reach out to the senior members of the church and community and served in preparing meals one day a month for the "Keen Angels" to come fellowship and eat lunch. She was active in the Women of Hope, where she enjoyed teaching cooking and crafts to young women and sharing recipes, techniques, and ideas. She was an active member of the M&M Ladies Sunday school class and served on the church flower committee, previously taught Sunday School and GA's. Wanda also loved working in the kitchen serving the children during the week of Bible School. Her devotion to the Lord and her church work will be greatly missed. Wanda enjoyed playing Bonco with a group of friends and a special outing once a month with her sisters-in-law.

One of her greatest joys in life was being with her grandchildren, loving and caring for them, nurturing and watching them grow physically and spiritually. Wanda fulfilled the Proverbs 31 woman and honored her Lord and Savior in her death as she has in her life.

Funeral services for Mrs. Jones will be 2:00 pm Monday, December 22, 2014 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with interment following in Morse Cemetery in Buna. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
