1964 - 2014
Ronald David Farley, 50, of Barboursville, WV, departed from this temporary Earthly home to his permanent Heavenly home, on Monday, December 22, 2014 at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Dave leaves behind his devoted and faithful wife, Lora Davis Farley and his loving daughter Terrin Michelle Farley, both of Barboursville, WV. Dave also is survived by his mother, Geraldine Farley Adkins Gue (Willis) of Lesage, WV and his father, Richard L. Farley (Edith) of Barboursville, WV. He also has two brothers that will truly miss him, Richard Jeffrey Farley (Bonnie) of Topeka, Kansas and Roger Owen Farley (Priscilla) of Barboursville, WV. Dave was preceded in death by one daughter, Tiffani Dawn Farley, his maternal grandparents, William and Marie Dennison, his paternal grandparents, Okey and Iris Farley of Lesage, WV, and his wifes parents, Norman R. Davis and Barbara E. Davis of Huntington. He is also survived by his wifes side of the family, his sisters-in-law, Jeanne (Frank) Burdette and Lisa (Mike) Lovejoy, and his brother-in-law, John Davis (Jody) of Raleigh, NC. Dave also leaves the memory of his amazing Christian walk to his nephews and nieces, Natalie Katherns, Cassandra Dixson, Dylan Farley, Jenna Farley, Kimberly Walters, Lydia Burdette, Michael Lovejoy, Parker Dixson and Kaileigh Lovejoy to whom Dave was also referred to as her Poppy Dave. A large void has been left in the lives that Dave touched. He was a devout Christian and faithful member and adult Sunday School teacher at Oak Hill UBI Church in Lesage, WV. Dave left a little piece of him wherever he went. He witnessed for the Lord and he would desire that we look upon the Lord to get us through this tragic loss. Many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends as well as co-workers, neighbors and our beloved Oak Hill family will have humorous happy memories of Dave. A special friend, David Koontz will be forever changed for their lasting friendship is a gift from God. Dave was an employee of the Herald-Dispatch and was a veteran of the US Army. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Saturday, December 27, 2014 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel led by an amazing man of God and friend to Dave, Pastor Jamie Jefferson. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Huntington, WV. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm Saturday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Dear Lora and Terrin, Your family has been such a tremendous instrument for hope, faithfulness, patience, devotion and love throughout your tragic ordeal.
C.S. Lewis, who lost his wife, said in "A Grief Observed": "Part of every misery is, so to speak, the misery's shadow or reflection: the fact that you don't merely suffer but have to keep on thinking about the fact that you suffer. I not only live each endless day in grief, but live each day thinking about living each day in grief."
And yet each day that passes, I stare in wonder at your marvelous grace, seeing your hope in today, tomorrow and beyond.
You have meant so much to so many for so long--so many milestones of education and service--and such wonderful memories --revolve around you all. David Farley was so loved.
You are such a big part of things in our daily life. We'll be there for you.

Just back in town, spoke with ICU staff, & learned of this very sad news. My deepest, heartfelt condolences on your loss. David was good-to-the-bone, adored you both, was kind, caring, and funny, and was always a joy to see and care for. I will remember him as a wonderful man who loved his family.
