Philip "Dozer" Grant Porter, 63, of Salt Rock, WV, passed away December 31, 2014 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville by Brother Bob Dailey. He was born September 8, 1951, in Huntington, a son of Lavonia "Cricket" Sergent Porter of Salt Rock and the late Cleedith Porter. He is survived by his wife, Linda Porter; two daughters and sons-in-law, Katie and Dax Hancock of Salt Rock and Beth and Travis Prichard of Glenwood; one brother and sister-in-law, Dwight and ReneƩ Porter of Milton; four grandchildren, Nickolas and Makinley Prichard and Liam and Elias Hancock; niece, Amanda Morrison and nephew, Joshua Porter, both of Milton; and a host of special friends. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, 3100 Staunton Road, Huntington, WV 25702. I met the Porter family around 1955 when we moved into the little house beside them in Salt Rock. We all played and went to school together until we moved in 1959. It's so hard to believe we are in our sixties. May God bless all of you and give you comfort.
