Elie Martin SimmonsFuneral services for Elie Martin Simmons 96, of Silsbee will be Monday, January 5, 2015, at 11am, at First Baptist Church of Silsbee with interment following in Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be at Farmer Funeral Home on Sunday, Jan 4 from 4-6 pm.

Mr. Simmons passed away January 2, 2015, at his residence.

Born, September 30, 1918 in San Augustine County to Ernest M. and Lizzie Christie Simmons and was an only child. Elie lived in Silsbee for over 67 years. He was owner of Simmons Radio & Appliances, Simmons Motor Company, Simmons Water Well Drilling, and numerous other family owned enterprises. Mr. Simmons was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Silsbee. He enjoyed gardening and fishing and was a loving husband, uncle, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Mr. Simmons is preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Simmons, and his parents Ernest and Lizzie Simmons.

Survivors include nieces Evva Dene Dymke of San Augustine, Avis Joy Carruth of Silsbee, Nancy Carol Lynch of San Augustine, Johnida Jan Evans of San Antonio and Charla Elaine Thompson of Trinty and nephews Charles Edward Rogers and William Lee Bub Johnson, both of San Augustine.

In Lieu of flowers, please make contributions to First Baptist Church, Silsbee, TX.

Silsbee has lost one of it's finest. EM and Juanita were family friends,as well as special people in my life growing up. They are together once again.
