Kelly Ann Hunter (Paris) Click for Condolences      Printable Version
1961 - 2015

Kelly Ann Hunter (Paris)Kelly Ann Paris Hunter, 53, went home to the loving arms of Jesus Monday, January 5, 2015, surrounded by her family. She was born January 17, 1961 in Lakeview, Michigan, the daughter of Paul and Nancy (Keeney) Paris. Along with her parents, Kelly is loved and remembered by her children, Tracey Nicole Hunter and her partner, Clark Dendinger, Jordan James Hunter and his partner, Jon-Paul Vicari, and Nicholas Paul Hunter; her brothers, James and Tammy Paris, Daniel Paris and Brenda Thompson; and Andrew and Holly Paris; her twin sister, Kim and Martin Covey; and her younger sister, Julia and Alex Kapteyn; 13 nieces and nephews; and 16 grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Kelly is also survived by several loving aunts, uncles, and cousins; and by many dear friends who were an important part of her life. Kelly attended Lakeview Community Schools, graduating in 1979. She received her bachelors degree from Hope College in Holland, Michigan and her doctoral degree from Northern Illinois University. Along with caring for her family, Kelly was active in her church, leading a women's Bible study group and assisting in the church nursery. She was also a member of a close-knit community of friends and neighbors. Following her divorce in 2008, Kelly returned to school to become a Registered Nurse. While attending nursing school, Kelly was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer. After a valiant battle with this disease, Kelly returned to school and completed her course of study in 2013. Realizing it was not a matter of if, but when the cancer would return, Kelly chose to move back to Lakeview to be near family after her youngest son graduated from high school, which she did in October of 2013. Within weeks of starting her job as an RN at Altercare in Big Rapids, Kellys cancer returned, and after a brief time of illness, was received into the arms of God. A funeral service in celebration of her life and faith will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Lakeview Community Church, 8980 Howard City-Edmore Road (M-46), with visitation from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM prior to the service. Rev. David Hansen will serve as officiant. Interment will be in Dickerson Whitsell Cemetery in Lakeview. Memorial contributions may be given to Spectrum Health Hospice or Hope Lodge.

To all the family, we are so sorry for your loss. We truly enjoyed Kelly as a very close neighbor. We loved the time she spent watching Alyssa when she was an infant. I think Kelly really loved that time too. We miss seeing her in her backyard. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers in this difficult time.
