1929 - 2015

James L. Callicoat, age 85, of Chesapeake, Ohio went to be with The Lord on January 25, 2015 at Veteran's Administration Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia. He was born October 9, 1929 to the late Roy and Verna Callicoat in Monaca, Pennsylvania. Jim is survived by one son and daughter-in-law David Callicoat and Kathy and a very special grandson, John David Callicoat; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Eva Wyant Callicoat; his parents; three brothers Oscar, Jack, Rex; and three sisters Fern Bismarck, Betty Turner and Glenna Frost. Jim was a member of Jefferson Avenue Church of God. He worked as a printer for the largest print shop, Standard Printing, in West Virginia. He finished his career as a long time employee of Scaggs Printing Company of Huntington. Besides his chosen career Jim had a talent of being able to repair or build anything. He loved his family dearly and will be missed by all who knew him. Funeral service will be conducted by Rev. Paul R. Farley and Rev. Greg Tomlinson at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 28 at Hall Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, Ohio. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 27 at the funeral home. Our hearts are saddened by our loss but we know Dad is at peace with his beloved Eva. We would like to express our thanks to his caregivers, Eulaine Elkins and Juanita Blevins for their love and compassionate care over the past few months and nephews Roger Perkins and Mike Adkins for only being a phone call away. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.

I m so sorry for your loss. Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted; He saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18. May the peace that comes from the memories of love shared, comfort you now. Please accept my sincere condolences.

Kathy and Dave, So sorry to see this. We are never ready for the pain caused by losing a loved one. But you know God will sustain you.
