Dortha T. Black, 90, of Chesapeake, Ohio passed away Thursday February 5, 2015 at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, WV. She was born November 13, 1924 in Gallipolis, Ohio to the late Ernest and Gracie Myers Baker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Don Black; one son Michael D. Black; and five brothers Ernest E. Baker, Carroll E. Baker, Freddie D. Baker, Ray L. Baker, and Donovan Baker. She was a member of Lewis Memorial Baptist Church, Huntington, WV. She is survived by three sons Larry (Beverly) Black of South Point, Ohio, Bryan (Nancy) Black of Chesapeake, Ohio, and Timothy (Stella) Black of Huntington, WV; one daughter Donita (Mark) Burns of Huntington, WV., 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and one brother Clay (Ann) Baker of Patriot, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express a special thanks to Heritage Center Homestead Unit for their special care. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday February 8, 2015 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio by Dr. David Lemming. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington, WV. Visitation will be held 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday February 7, 2015 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory and one hour before the funeral service on Sunday.
