Bertha Lorine Thomas, 98, of Silsbee passed away February 13, 2015 at Silsbee Oaks Healthcare Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held at Friendship Baptist Church, Hwy 96 in Buna, TX at 10:30 am on Monday, February 16, 2015 with Brother Paul Swearingen officiating. Visitation will be 5 pm until 8 pm Sunday, February 15, 2015 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee.
A graveside service and interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Bastrop, LA at 1:00 pm Wednesday, February 18, 2015.
Lorine was born in Bastrop, LA on February 28, 1916. She lived in Bastrop before moving to Buna in November, 2002. She was an LVN and retired from Morehouse General Hospital, Bastrop, LA after 40 years of service. Mrs. Thomas was a long time member of White Avenue Baptist Church in Bastrop before moving her membership to Friendship Baptist in Buna in February, 2003.
Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her husband Ervin Thomas, two sisters, Irene Dunn and Ruth Trammel and one brother Harvy Rawls. She is survived by her son Don Thomas and his wife Betty of Buna; two granddaughters, Kim Marks and husband Michael of Beaumont and Linda Erwin of Buna.
