Arvel Bloomfield was born February 8, 1920 in Saratoga, Texas and passed away February 27, 2015 at Beaumont Baptist Hospital. He was a former resident of Carlisle, Texas and had lived in Buna the past eleven years.
Arvel was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Army. He retired from Mobil Oil Refinery.
He is preceeded in death by his parents Fred and Ila Bloomfield; step daughter Billie Musgrove and brother Donald Ray Bloomfield.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years Maggie Bloomfield of Buna; sons Charles Bloomfield and wife Glenda of Bridge City and Jerry Bloomfield and wife Jo Ann of Waxahachie; step son Gerald Sarver of Town Bluff; step daughters Linda McGallion of Fred and Lisa McGallion of Buna; brother Gerald Bloomfield and wife Sue of Livingston; four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 1, 2015 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Farmer Funeral Home. Funeral will be 10:00 am Monday at the funeral home with a military graveside service at 3:00 pm at the Carlisle Cemetery in Carlisle, Texas.
