1933 - 2015
 Alice M. Bowen, age 81 of Lincoln Pines, Gowen and Sebring, Florida, passed away Sunday morning, March 15, 2015 at Spectrum Health United Memorial Hospital in Greenville. She was born June 20, 1933, the daughter of Albert and Margaret (Schultz) Hoisington. Alice retired from General Motors after 30 years of employment in the sewing department of the Alpine plant. She also sold Avon products for many years. She was active in the community as a member of TOPS and as a Red Hat lady. She crocheted hundreds of hats and baby blankets for donation. She enjoyed wintering in Sebring for many years, and also enjoyed being part of the Lincoln Pines community. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, John Bowen; daughter, Sue Miller-Ross; and brother, Floyd Hoisington. She is survived by her children, Michael (Renea) Williams of Greenville, Nancy (Jim) Huey of Belding, Jodi (Pat) Lober-Best of Minnesota, Johnny Bowen of Greenville, and Stacie (Jack) Bowen-Mosher of Kentucky; 16 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; brother, Nelson (Lucille) Hoisington of Belding; and sisters, Beverly (Tom) Verberg of Grand Rapids and Barb Underwood of Lakeview. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Hurst Funeral Home, with visitation from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM prior to the funeral. Rev. Donald Spachman of the Greenville First United Methodist Church will serve as officiant. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society. |

We loved Alice so much. We could not have asked for a better neighbor. We have already missed not seeing her smiling face next door. She will be forever in our hearts.
