 David Kent Woods, 30, of Huntington, WV passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2015. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 13, 2015 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor Rocky Meadows. Burial will be in Eplin Cemetery. He was born September 5, 1984 in Huntington, a son of Charles Woods of North Carolina and the late Colleen Merritt Woods Pinson. He was a veteran of the US Marines. He was also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Russell and Lottie Woods and maternal grandmother, Eathel Ella Merritt. Also surviving are his son, the love of his life, Max Woods; sisters, Misty Poff of Bettie, NC and Sharlett Lawless of Sanford, NC; maternal grandfather, Harold Buddy Merritt and his wife, Deloris; step mother, Billie Woods; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wallace Funeral Home to help with expenses. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Our family knew David and his mom when the kids were small. I was so heart broke to hear that David had passed. Such a loss - I also thank you so much for your service, and all you have done for our country, and just for being the wonderful young man you were. So, so sorry - but I also know that you will be with your mom who loved you so much... David rest in the sweet peace of God, and always know that you will never be forgotten... you've touched so many lives..... The Mays family...

I did not know you sir,or the journey of your life. But I mourn your passing,as if I did. For you,sir,allow me the freedoms that I enjoy on a daily basis,with your service to our country. A man that's passing has me and a community in disbelief, I absolutely loved this man like family and truly hope that some day his son knows how much he was loved by David Kent Woods.

Sorry to hear of Daves Passing. He was a great young man who will not be forgotten. We had the pleasure of getting to know Dave many years ago. Praying for Peace and Comfort for all His Family and Friends.
