Russell Oliver Stewart, 91, of Chesapeake, Ohio passed away Thursday April 16, 2015 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, WV. He was born June 4, 1923 in Huntington, WV to the late Oliver and Ethel Hardy Stewart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Viola Stewart; three sisters and five brothers. He is survived by his two sons, Mark Stewart of Goshen, OH and Rusty Stewart of Chesapeake, OH; two daughters Linda Kidd of Liberty, NC and Joanie Hamilton of Albermarle, NC; 15 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; a one brother, Chester Stewart of Mt. Orab, Ohio; one sister Margaret Eppell; and several nieces and nephews. Russell was a member of Christ Temple Church and attended the First Church of the Nazarene Huntington, WV, and retired from CSX Railroad. He was a United States Army WWII veteran, a member of VFW Post #1064 of Huntington, WV, and a member of the American Legion Post in Dayton, OH. A graveside service will be conducted 11:30 a.m. Saturday April 18, 2015 at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, WV. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday April 18, 2015 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.
