Richard Leo OosdykeRichard Leo Oosdyke age 82 of Florida and Michigan, passed away Monday April 20, 2015 at Florida Hospital Waterman, Travares, Fl. He was born in Grand Rapids, MI on December 24, 1932 the son of Harry J. and Margaret (Page) Oosdyke. Dick was a veteran of the US Navy and was retired from Rapistan with many years of service. He also was the owner of the former Midway Inn Tavern near Sheridan and thoroughly enjoyed serving his customers. He was a former member of Greenville Country Club, Greenville Lions Club and St. Charles Catholic Church. He enjoyed many friends in the Greenville area with his golf and poker games. In his youth he was proud of his time as a high school diver at Creston High School.

He was blessed with a loving marriage to Carol A. (Olsen) Stanley on October 9, 1993 and together they enjoyed living in Michigan and Florida. She preceded him in death on June 14, 2007. He was also preceded in death by his brother Thomas (Linda) Oosdyke.

He is survived by his children; Richard “Chip” (Marti) Oosdyke of Norton Shores, Christine Oosdyke of Charlevoix, Thomas “Tommy” (Darcine) Oosdyke of Belmont, Lisa Stanley of Bay City, Lori Stanley of Orlando, FL, grandchildren, Jillian (Noah) Schwander, Jacob (Hilary) Bancino, great grandchildren, Eliza and Jasper, his sister Ruth Burkholder of Belmont, special friend Myrna Charlton of Florida, nieces and nephews, and Sandy Freund of Rockford the mother of his children.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday May 1, 2015 at 11 AM at St. Charles Catholic Church in Greenville with burial in St. Charles Cemetery, Greenville. Rev. Father Phil Salmonowicz will serve as celebrant. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 to 7 PM at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society.
