1922 - 2015
Halsie Marie Ross, 92, of Branchland, WV, passed away May 19, 2015, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. She was born November 13, 1922, in Cabell County, WV, a daughter of the late Tilmon and Noma Lucas Childers. She was a member of Green Valley United Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband Hersel Ross; two sons Tilmon Ross and infant Ross; six sisters and three brothers. She is survived by five daughters and sons-in-law Marcella and Ishmel “Eppie” Hatfield of Branchland, Jerri and Roger Scragg of Barboursville, Anita and Joe Walker of Salt Rock, Kathy and Glenn Wilson of Scott Depot, WV, and Priscilla Ross and Tom Niederhelman of Columbus; OH; two sons and daughters-in-law, Garron and Lois Ross, and Greg and Barbara Ross all of Branchland; one sister Ladoska Napier of Columbus, OH; seventeen grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 23, 2015, at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor Jackie Walker and Pastor Johnny Gue. Burial will be in Green Valley Cemetery, Branchland. The family would like to thank the staff of St. Mary’s Medical Center for their wonderful care.
