Alva Lewis Alva Lewis “Lew” Morrison, 76, of Milton, WV, passed away June 2, 2015, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. He was born June 13, 1938, in Logan County, WV, a son of the late James Luther Morrison and Margaret Mildred Chambers Morrison. He served in the United States Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis, member of the American Legion, VFW, 30 year member of American Welding Society, a Deacon at Church in the Valley, an Awana Commander , and retired from Airgas in Charleston. He was also preceded in death by two brothers Marvin and Grady Morrison. He is survived by his wife Marilyn Jeneal Hellyer Morrison; two sons and daughter-in-law Eric and Beth Morrison; and Glen Morrison; two sisters and brothers-in-law Dorothy and Rod Rodriguez and Renatha and Buck Woodard; two brothers and sisters-in-law Leonard and Emma Lee Morrison, and James “Bobby” Morrison; three grandchildren Katie, Tyler, and Callie. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton and after 12 noon on Saturday at the church. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2015, at Church in the Valley, Milton, by Pastor Stan Maynard and Pastor Troy Nicely. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Morrison Cemetery, Godby section of Chapmanville, WV. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Church in the Valley Deacon Fund or the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House.
