Hal Dial Spurlock, Jr., 76, of Huntington, WV passed away Thursday, June 4, 2015. He was born May 8, 1939 in Cabell County, WV. son of the late Howell Dial Spurlock and Juanita Ona Burd Spurlock. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sons Duane Dial Spurlock and Bryan Lee Spurlock. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Gladys “Joann” Vance Spurlock; a daughter and son-in-law Renita and Ray Lucas of Barboursville, WV; a granddaughter Shelby Lucas and great grandson Lucas Ferguson both of Barboursville, WV. Hal was a veteran of the United States Military and was retired from American Car and Foundries. He attended Jefferson Avenue Church of God and enjoyed traveling in the states and abroad. His family would like to thank the staff of the VA Medical Center especially Sandy Christian; Hospice of Huntington; and Rusty and Joyce Fortner for their kindness, compassion and support. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, June 7, 2015 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio by Pastor Brady Lipscomb. Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens, Miller, Ohio. Visitation will be held 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, June 7, 2015 at the funeral home.
