Harry Long Spears, 92, of Proctorville, Ohio died Saturday June 13, 2015. He was born May 28, 1923 in Proctorville, Ohio, son of the late Charles and Rosa Drummond Spears. He retired from Columbia Gas Company with many years of service. He was a WWII Army veteran serving in the European Theater Allied Command Headquarters. He was also preceded in death by his wife of over 60 years, Arce Daniels Spears; a brother Baxter Spears; a sister Cora Judd; and two younger brothers who died in childhood. He is survived by a sister Sara Nell (William) Adkins of Ona, WV; son Michael (Miriam) Spears of Batavia, Ohio; granddaughter Melinda (Chris) Marcum of Crown City, Ohio; special great grandson Christopher Marcum; several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law Betty Sheppard of Columbus, Ohio; many friends at Braggs Garage in Proctorville; and long-time friends Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Marsh. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday June 19, 2015 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio by Pastor Jason Morris. Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens, Miller, Ohio. Proctorville VFW Post #6878 will conduct military graveside rites. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday June 18, 2015 at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.

Marcum and Spears families, my wife and I are very sorry for your loss, and express our sincere condolences. I knew Harry in my younger years, and as a neighbor. He was a very good, and caring person.
