Mary Anne Thornton, 78, of Chesapeake, Ohio, went asleep in Jesus, awaiting his second coming, on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at home. She was a former employee of St. Mary’s Medical Center and was an active member of Shiloh Seventh-Day Adventist Church Huntington, WV. She was also in the Navy Reserves. She was born in Barboursville, WV on May 29, 1937 to the late Forrest James and Mary Huff Thornton. She is survived by one brother Paul D. (Estalean) Thornton of Barboursville, WV; two nieces Paula (Paul) Murphy of Chesapeake, Ohio and Peggy (Mark) Baker of Lancaster, Ohio; one great niece Nicki (Derek) Keith; three great nephews Joseph Murphy, Jerrod Dillon and Evan Baker; one great great niece Brooklyn Dillon; two great great nephews Jake and Brody Dillon; special friends and family Mark and Tammy Johnson and their daughters Courtney, Kendra and their families. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Shiloh Seventh-Day Adventist Church 1693 9th Ave. Huntington, WV 25701 with Pastor Rodney Valentine officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point, Ohio. Visitation will be held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio.
