George “Pat” Scott, 68, of Silsbee, lost his courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, August 1, 2015. He died in his home surrounded by those he loved. Funeral services will be held at Farmer Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at 10:00 am, with interment to follow at R. S. Farmer Cemetery in Silsbee. Visitation will be on Tuesday at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
Pat served his country proudly for 6 years, in the army during the Vietnam War, and obtained the rank of E-6. He retired from the MeadWestvaco paper mill after 38 years of employment.
He is preceeded in death by his parents George A. Scott and Pauline Whittington Scott and brother Don L. Scott.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Nancy Cannon Scott, Daughters Donna Broom and husband David of Tyler and Teresa Scott Robinson and husband Will of Houston, Grandsons Sam, Jon Henry and Guy Broom, Granddaughter Dana Robinson, Sisters Carolyn Hargrove of Silsbee and Lynda Wood of San Augustine, Sister-in-law Mona Cannon Jarrell and husband E. L. of Sulphur, Nephews Ricky Wood, Greg Wood and Sonny Hargrove, Nieces Tammy Harwell, Carole Beth Sherrod, Becky Whitton, Shelley Dailey, Linda Sue Grubb and Dona Jarrell.
