1934 - 2015
Jimmy Donahue, 80, of Ona, WV., passed away Sunday, August 23, 2015 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. He was born November 3, 1934 in Branchland, a son of the late Ernie and Lou Adkins Donahue. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Shirley Jean Donahue, brothers, Gene, Robert, and Ernie II. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Kimila and Tom Jones of Ona, and Shonda and the Honorable James H. Young of Huntington; two grandchildren, Katherine O’Hara and her husband, Frank and Kurt Jones; one sister, Emma Lou Dyer; brothers and sisters-in-law, Forrest and Barbara Donahue, Jack and Jewell Donahue, Keith and Betsy Donahue, and several nieces and nephews. A memorial mass will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 29, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Huntington, by Father Dean Borgmeyer and Monsignor Lawrence Luciana. After services, the family will host a luncheon in Jimmy’s honor at his home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, 3100 Staunton Rd. Huntington, WV 25702 or the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine Scholarship Foudation, 1600 Medical Center Drive, Huntington, WV 25701. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace.

Jim and I were on many derailments with CSX, regardless of the severity, Jim always greeted me with his big smile. Never a more hard worker than Jim. Rest in peace old friend....

My wife and I had been married only three months when we moved into the house Jim and Shirley had lived in on Route 10. Both of them were always so friendly and kind to us. That was 48 years ago, and I consider it an honor to have known them all these years.
