Paul “Sonny” Edward Turley, 75, of Proctorville, Ohio passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, WV. He was born June 10, 1940 in Lawrence County, Ohio son of the late William Edward and Alice Elizabeth Carling Turley. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson Derick Paul Turley; sister Gene and Lonnie Parsons; in-laws John and Marie Workman, Carl and Flossie Boster, Holley and Alta Scarberry, Bill and Rosemary Swain, Harry Walters and Curtis Phipps. He is a retired pipe fitter from CSX, a LCPL Marine Corps Veteran and a farmer. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Myrtle Workman Turley; two sons John (Pam) Turley of Proctorville, Ohio and Steve Turley of Lithia Springs, GA ; three daughters Sonya (Dwayne) Phillips of Crown City, Ohio, Misty (John) Knight of Ona, WV, and Paula (Terry) Duty of Proctorville, Ohio; nine grandchildren including a special granddaughter Stacie Fuller and a special grandson Jay Turley who assisted in his care; nine great grandchildren; one brother Harold (Patty) Turley of Crown City, Ohio; three sisters Deloris (Bobby) Williams of Crown City, Ohio, Kathleen Watson of Crown City, Ohio and Betty Turley of Proctorville, Ohio; in-laws Charlotte (Larry) Burcham of Proctorville, Ohio, Lucille Walters of Crown City, Ohio, Erma and Tom Larimer of North Port, FL, Virginia Phipps of Portsmouth, Ohio and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Sunday, September 6, 2015 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio by Pastor Meredith Turley. Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens, Miller, Ohio. Proctorville V.F.W. Post 6878 will conduct military graveside rites.
