Kathleen Shafer, 85, of Proctorville, Ohio passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at The Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, WV. She was born May 17, 1930 in Miller, Ohio daughter of the late Huey and Mary Henderson White. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Shafer; three brothers Harry White, Ervin White and William White; and one sister Frances McComas. She was a member of Lucinda United Baptist Church and attended McKinley Chapel United Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters Glenna (Irvin) Rankin of Proctorville, Ohio and Betty (Rick) James of Proctorville, Ohio; one son Harold Bo (Andrea) Shafer of Proctorville, Ohio; five grandchildren Joe (Jessica) Kilgore, Jeff (Becca) Kilgore, Jeremy Kilgore, Scott Shafer and Kelli (Joe) Leffingwell; five great grandchildren; three sisters Edna Bowman of Crown City, Ohio, Virginia Bowman of Proctorville, Ohio and Barbara Cook of Crown City, Ohio; two brothers Don (Nancy) White of Huntington, WV and Luther (Beverly) White of Crown City, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday September 26, 2015 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio by Pastor Jim Dailey. Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens, Miller, Ohio. Visitation will be held 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday September 26, 2015 at the funeral home.
