Funeral services for Lavern Landis, 77, of Silsbee will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at Farmer Funeral Home with interment to follow at Morse Cemetery in Buna. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm Tuesday September 29, 2015 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Landis passed away September 27, 2015 at Memorial Health System of East Texas in San Augustine.
She was born August 12, 1938, and was a longtime resident of Evadale. She was the secretary to the Superintendent at Evadale ISD and was owner of Landis Grocery.
Mrs. Landis is preceded in death by her parents Archie and Bessie Griswald Moss; husband James Lee Landis; son Rex Landis; brothers Larry Moss, David Moss, Merlin Moss; sisters Barbara Moss Sanders and Joyce Moss Havens.
Survivors include son Scott Lee Landis of Springfield, Missouri; daughter Jamie Landis of Evadale; brothers Jim Moss of Evadale, Harold Moss of Evadale, Gerald Moss of Buna, Buford Moss of Buna; one grandchild Garrett Lee Landis.
Mrs. Landis will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
