Mary Alice Staten, 82, passed away October 27, 2015. Her husband, Dover Staten, 82, passed away October 31, 2015. They were residents of both Huntington, WV and Proctorville, Ohio. They both passed away at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 7, 2015 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville by Pastor Duane Smith. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Garden, Huntington. She was born March 13, 1933 in Williamson, WV, a daughter of the late Frank and Essie Sergent Brooks. He was born December 29, 1932, in Williamson, WV, a son of the late Ken and Emma Smith Staten. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War. They are survived by two children, Ken Staten and Sally Kopanski and Chris and Teresa Staten, all of Proctorville; and four grandchildren, Lexy Mullins, and Taylor, Ty, and Cody Staten. Mrs. Staten is also survived by two brothers, Otis Brooks of Barboursville and Ernie Brooks of Williamson. Mr. Staten is survived by his brother Bobby Smith of Kentucky. Visitation will be from after 12:00 pm Saturday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, 3100 Staunton Road, Huntington, WV, 25702.
