She was born in Salt Rock, WV, July 4, 1921, a daughter of the late Oscar and Della (Vannatter) McComas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Adkins, son of the late Elisha and Julia Adkins; a daughter, Charlotte Adkins; nine siblings; and a daughter-in-law, Twyla Jayne (Edmond) Adkins. Survivors include two sons: Charles David (Cathy) Adkins, grandson Adam Michael Adkins, and son Timothy Wayne (Tonya) Adkins, Sr., grandson Timothy Wayne Adkins Jr.; granddaughter Christina Marie (Adkins) (Jon) Kretzer, great-granddaughters, Amelia and Emma Kretzer; step grandson, Josh Rambo and four step great-grandsons, Tanner, Tye, Trey, and Trenton Rambo; a sister, Mary Pratt; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. In recent years, she had attended Marysville Church of Christ in Marysville, OH, as well as the Oakwood Road Church of Christ in Fairmont, WV. Ruby loved, and was loved very much by her family and all who knew her, because she always had a sympathetic ear and wise counsel for those who needed it. This was coupled with a marvelous sense of humor and a passion for telling stories from when she was growing up on the family farm. Ma will be sorely missed - but her friends and family will strive to live such that they can join her in heaven with her Lord Jesus Christ whom she tried to serve her entire life. The calling hours will be Friday, November 13, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wallace Funeral Home in Barboursville, WV. Funeral services will be held on Saturday November 14, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Evangelist David Roach officiating at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel in Barboursville WV. Ruby had the kindest heart and smile. She was part of the "greatest generation" American has known. May God be with you in your time of sorrow because of her passing.

Dear Charles, Tim, and family. Aunt Ruby was a great mother, wife, cook and advice source - even for me. Always appreciate the fun times spent with your family, fresh made donuts covering the big kitchen table, home made ice cream in the driveway, and digging for potatoes. Our time is coming soon, hope we live as well as Aunt Ruby did. Love you, Steven
