Carolyn Ann DouglasFuneral services for Carolyn Ann Gallaspy Douglas, 64, of Silsbee, will be 10:00 am Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Silsbee with interment following in Hooks Cravy Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Monday at Farmer Funeral Home.

Mrs. Douglas passed away November 12, 2015 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.

A native and lifelong resident of Silsbee, she was retired from Tri Con Inc, where she worked as Human Resource/Payroll manager. Carolyn was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Silsbee and volunteered her time in many church activities, including teaching Sunday school for 10 years and Women’s Missionary Union. She was also a graduate of the Seminary Extension in Women’s Ministry and was Executive Director of the Christian Women’s Job Corp.

Mrs. Douglas is preceded in death by her parents, David H and Emma Hooks Gallaspy and brother Jack Gallaspy.

Survivors include her husband George S Douglas Jr of Silsbee; sons Danny L Kirkendall and wife Yolanda of Silsbee, John A Kirkendall and wife Liana Buckley of Silsbee, Christopher Kirkendall and wife Jeri of Silsbee and Jack F Kirkendall and wife Maira of Little Cypress; daughter Julie A Stains and husband V G of Gist; brothers David Earl Gallaspy and wife Carla of Silsbee, Eddy Lee Gallaspy and wife Renee of Silsbee and Donald “Duck” Gallaspy and wife Cheryl of Moss Hill; sister Suzie Dryden of Silsbee; sixteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Mrs. Douglas will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

So very sorry to hear this sad news. Carolyn and her family lived down the street from me most of my life. I have so many fond memories of our childhood from building straw house in the woods to being twirlers in junior high school. You will be missed my friend. RIP To the family..my thoughts are prayers are with you during this sad time.

Caroline is one of the kindest people ive ever known.She was very smart and excelled at whatever she did,working hard to provide for her 5 children through the years.When she made her commitment to Christ it was a total commitment.Jesus saves and she is proof of what a great savior he is.Prayin for you George and Danny,John,Chris,Jack,and Julie.
