Iola Mae 'Tommie' Jennusa Click for Condolences      Printable Version
1922 - 2015

Iola Mae 'Tommie' Jennusa Mrs. Iola Mae (“Tommie”) Jennusa went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on November 24, 2015. Mrs. Jennusa, 93, was born in Saratoga, Texas, to Lona Mae and Miles Jordan on May 7, 1922. She had been a resident of Silsbee for over 40 years after moving from Port Arthur where she owned a successful beauty salon. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Silsbee.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Jennusa, her brothers, Gene and Doug Jordan, a sister, Mrs. Pete Rogers and her son, Jim Tipton of Rockport, Texas.

She is survived by her sister Zelma Bertram, her brother, Jack Jordan and his wife Carol and her sisters-in-laws Mary Jordan and Yvonne Jordan. She is also survived by two daughters and a daughter-in-law: Linda Pittman and her husband Robert, Melba Heselmeyer and her husband Robert, and Judy Tipton. She was beloved by her grandchildren: Laurie Tipton, Jimmy Jr. and Kelly Tipton; Abby Salazar and Kevin Pittman; and Jennifer Barnhouse and Rebecca Milner, as well as by her great grandchildren Jenny Elliff, Laura Thompson, Kelli Miller, Alyx Salazar, Casey, Benjamin and Sierra Pittman, Nathan and Andrew Tipton.

Iola was also a beloved great-great-grandmother. In addition, she was cherished by a host of cousins and aunts, nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends. “Tommie” will always be remembered for her love and concern of all those around her, her kind manner, her lovely eyes and smile and her loyalty to family. She was indeed beautiful in face, heart and spirit and her door was always open to all. Our mother was deeply loved and will be truly missed.

A service will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, November 30, 2015, at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee, Texas with interment following in Resthaven Cemetery in Silsbee. Visitation will be 11:00 am until 1:00 pm Monday.

I m so sorry for your loss. May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. Psalms 72:12 For he will rescue the poor who cry for help. Also the lowly one and whoever has no helper. Please accept my sincere condolences.
