Funeral services for Jimmy Clyde Melton, 71, of Silsbee will be 11:00 am Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Farmer Funeral Home with interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Beaumont. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Melton passed away December 2, 2015 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.
He was a native of New Orleans and was a longtime resident of the Golden Triangle. Mr. Melton joined the United States Navy in 1961 and worked in Nuclear Power Plants around the United States. He lived the past seven years at Senior Rehab in Port Arthur. He is preceded in death by his wife Judy Freeman Melton; father William Pursey Melton; and mother Idell Lee Yarbrough.
Survivors include daughters Kristy Spikes and husband Tim of Bridge City and her sister Kelly O’Neal of New Orleans; brother Ron Benoit and wife Helen of DeQuincy; sisters Ann Robbins and husband Ted of Silsbee, Betty Kilgore and husband Phil of Lumberton, Rose Mary Van Hoose of League City, Sherry Shoemaker and husband John of Katy, and Yvonne Sumner and husband Rodney of Katy; three grandchildren Jessica Graham, Jennifer Monceaux and Brandy Hebert and husband Ryan; five great grandchildren Michael, Trent, Brandon, Logan, and Hayden.
