Mabel Burnace Adkins, 90, of Salt Rock, WV, passed away Friday, December 11, 2015 at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor Gerry Matt. Burial will be in Baylous Cemetery. She was born January 1, 1925 in Kenmont, KY, a daughter of the late Grover C and Fannie Hensley Shockey. She was preceded in death by her husband Marshall O’Neal Adkins; six brothers and six sisters. She was a member of Grace Gospel Church, and former owner of Kum-Bak-Inn Restaurant, Salt Rock. She is survived by one daughter, Marsha Adkins, of Salt Rock, WV; two sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Libby Adkins and Karl and Becki Adkins of Huntington; three grandchildren, Valarie Adkins, Jennifer Dennison and her husband, Chris, and Sam Adkins and his wife, Angie; three great-grandchildren, Teagan Dennison, Addison and Avery Adkins and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Hospice of Huntington and two very special nurses, Mary Foster, and Melissa Cooper. Visitation will be from 12-1 pm Tuesday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Roger, Karl, Marsha So sorry for the loss of your Mother. I worked at the Kum-Bak-Inn many years ago and have good memories of that time,Mabel was great person. May God Bless and Comfort you. Helen
