Funeral services were held for Ella Dee Read, 95, of Austin, Texas at 2:00 pm Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Farmer Funeral Home with interment following at Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation was at 1 pm until time for service Saturday.
Mrs. Read passed away December 22, 2015 at Knight’s Assisted Living in Pflugerville, Tx. She was born December 20, 1920 near Woodville, to Frederic Ancel and Viola Barclay Williamson.
She was a longtime resident of Silsbee before moving to Austin. She was a cafeteria worker for Kirby Elementary School until her retirement, and was a member of the Assemblies of God Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Eva Esther McDonald, two brothers, Joseph Harrell Williamson and Perry Hooks, husbands Julius Joseph Landry and Thomas Byron Read, son Joseph Jules “Joey” Landry and daughter Dena Read Mortimore.
Survivors include her granddaughter, Melissa Landry of Lake Charles, son-in-law David Mortimore of Austin, nephew Frank McDonald and wife Marjorie, great-niece Terry Turner and husband Joe, great-nephews Brian McDonald and wife Suzanne, Rusty McDonald and wife Janet, Greg McDonald and wife Hayley, all of Silsbee, and their families.
