1942 - 2015

Margaret Evelyn Margaret Evelyn ”Margie” Wilgus, 73, of Proctorville, Ohio, loving daughter, sister, and aunt, entered her Heavenly home Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at The Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, WV. Margaret was born November 1, 1942 in Huntington, WV daughter of the late Harry Edmund Wilgus and Mary Evelyn Wilgus. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, infant Robert Larry Wilgus and John “Ed” Wilgus. Margaret graduated from Fairland High School in 1960. She attended Wiseman Business School and Marshall University. In 1967 she graduated from Bob Jones University. After graduation she began her teaching career at Jupiter Christian School in Jupiter, FL where she taught for two years and then taught at Hannan Trace Elementary in Crown City, Ohio for another two years. She also taught at Huntington Christian Academy in Huntington, WV for eight years where she served as principal. Margaret later joined her father in the Wilgus Insurance Agency and then was employed by Bloss and Dillard Inc. where she retired after 23 years. She is survived by one sister Patricia and C.B. Waldo of Brentwood, TN; sister-in-law Diana Wilgus of Proctorville, Ohio; nieces Ann Moore of Oxford, MS and her daughter Sarah Moore of Philadelphia, PA, Helene and Brad Dean and their sons Clay and Alex of Brentwood, TN, and Brooke Wilgus of Columbus, Ohio; nephews John and Julie Wilgus of Florence, KY and Ryan and Susan Wilgus and their daughters Sophia and Savanna of Las Vegas, NV; one aunt Dorothy Dunfee of Springfield, VA; along with cousins and a host of friends, and her co-workers at Bloss and Dillard, Inc. who kept her laughing with jokes and pranks. Margaret never had children of her own but “adopted” her nieces and nephews. She loved watching them grow and being a part of their lives. Margaret loved her family dearly as they loved her. Margaret has been a Christian since childhood and faithfully served the Lord. She was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church of Proctorville, Ohio where she was a member of the choir, Sisters in Christ and served communion. Margaret’s brother-in-law recently said, “What’s not to love about Margie”. No one could have had a bigger or more tender heart. She was humble and unpretentious and always ready with a helping hand. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, December 27, 2015 at New Hope United Methodist Church, Proctorville, Ohio with Pastor Dwayne Shugert officiating. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, Ohio. Visitation will be held 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, December 27, 2015 at the church. First off I would like to extend my condolences. I did not know MsWilgus, but 2 of my lifelong friends worked with her at Bloss-Dillard and enjoyed her so. I lost my husband in Sept of this year and am hoping to move back to the Huntington/ I'm sorry for the loss of MsWilgus I did not have the honor of knowing her but 2 of my lifelong friends was co-workers of I did not have the honor of meeting Ms Wilgus, however 2 of my lifelong friends was coworkers of hers at Bloss-Dillard. They enjoyed Margaret's laugh and easy spirit and ability as a coworker. One of my friends lives in the Proctorville area and since I am recently widowed and looking for property to move back to that area as well, I would be interested in Margaret's property in Proctorville. I trust this is not an unthoughtful approach and offer my apologizes if there's offense taken. Thank you. 423-483-2438

My deepest sympathy for your loss. May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. Psalms 72:12 For he will rescue the poor who cry for help. Also the lowly one and whoever has no helper. Please accept my sincere condolences.
