Lloyd Oscar Adkins, 89, of Lesage, WV went to be with his Lord and Saviour on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, WV. He was born March 13, 1926. He was preceded in death by his parents Lloyd and Lieuary Adkins; three sisters Ruby Damron, Lena Roy and Bessie Harris; six brothers Edward Adkins, Charles Adkins, Glenn M. Adkins, Wandell Adkins, Gerald Adkins and Frank Adkins; one son, at birth; one daughter Deborah L. Adkins; and one grandson James L. Adkins, who was a Barboursville Police Officer. He is survived by his wife Norma Adkins; one son Donald Eugene Adkins of Huntington, WV; two daughters Linda Hill of Gallipolis Ferry, WV and Carolyn Adkins of Lesage, WV; three grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two sisters Maxine Rader of Connersville, IN and Glenna Vaughn of Huntington, WV; and one brother Coy Adkins of Barboursville, WV. He was a veteran of WWII and was a plumber and pipe fitter for 67 years with Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Local Union #521, Huntington, WV. He was a member of Hall’s Chapel Independent Church of Blue Sulphur Road in Ona, WV where he has held the office of Sunday School Superintendent and Trustee for many years. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio. Burial will follow in Centenary Cemetery, Chesapeake, Ohio. Proctorville V.F.W. Post 6878 will conduct military graveside rites. Visitation will be held 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, December 31, 2015 at the funeral home.
