Johnnie Eugene Olds Born October 9, 1935 in Erin, Texas. He passed away February 6, 2016 with his family at his bedside. He had battled prostate cancer and won, but lost his battle with bladder cancer due to excess radiation.
He is predeaced in death by his parents John and Ollie Mae Olds, sister Karen Hollis, daughter Charlotte Olds and beloved son John Dwayne Olds.
Johnnie was a U.S. Army Veteran during the Korean conflict but spent most of his time in Germany. He met and married his wife Helen Marie Ferguson Olds of 59 ½ years in September 1956 after a very brief courtship.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Marie Olds; Sons David Olds and wife Rhonda of Silsbee, Michael Olds and wife Kay of Brookeland, Texas, Daughters Patricia Olds Spoonemoore and husband Ricky of Silsbee, daughter Kathy Olds Farrar and husband Roland of Silsbee, daughter Becky Olds Gore and husband Walter of Silsbee. He was the proudest of his 13 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren who he thought could do no wrong.
Services are set for February 9, 2016 at 2:30 at Farmers Funeral Home with visitation on Monday February 8, 2016 from 5 to 8.
