Funeral services for James Derwood "J D" Johnston, 82, of Silsbee, will be 2:00 pm Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Farmer Funeral Home with interment following in Tanton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 pm - 8 pm Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Johnston passed away February 10, 2016 at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.
J D was a native of Crockett and was a lifelong resident of Silsbee. He was a retired oilfield consultant and a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Silsbee. He was also a mayhaw jelly salesman.
Mr. Johnston is preceded in death by his parents, James Harlon Johnston and Alice Mae Davis Johnston; brothers Thomas Johnston, Ernest Lee Johnston and Bobby Joe Johnston and sisters Mabel Hargraves and Eunice Johnston,
Survivors include his wife Gracie Mae Johnston of Silsbee; sons Gilbert Johnston and wife Denice of Hemphill and Randy Harlon Johnston of Fannett; daughters Debbie Burk and husband John of Beaumont and Kathy Brock and husband Larry of Beaumont; sisters Wanda Johnston of Tennessee and Glenda Pelton of Shepherd; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.
