Funeral services for Elsie Delores Atkinson, 65, of Hemphill, will be 11:00 am Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with interment following in Franks Branch Cemetery in Fred. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Atkinson was born May 8, 1950 in Kirbyville to E O and Molly Nolan Neely. She was a former resident of Groves and had lived in the Fairmount Community for 20 years.
Elsie was preceded in death by her parents; sister Lowjuan Nelson; brother Robert Neely; brother-in-laws, Gerald Jones, Jack Nelson and Terry Tucker and mother- and father-in-law Rezie and James C Atkinson.
Survivors include her husband Carter Atkinson of Hemphill; son Robert Atkinson and wife Jessica of Groves; daughter Dana Austin and husband Benson of Nederland; grandchildren Presley and Preston Atkinson and Gavin Austin; sisters Carolyn Tucker, Debra McKinley, and Verna Price, all of Lumberton; brothers Sammy Neely of Lakeview, Norman Neely of Lumberton and George Neely of Hemphill and half-sister Nelda Gene Tomplait of Port Acres.
