Gary Wayne Lilly, 62, of Milton, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2016. He was born June 17, 1953, in Kanawha County, a son of the late Beulah Lilly Mooney and his stepfather Carl Edward Mooney. He is also preceded in death by his first wife Kathy Lilly. He was a Police Officer for the Milton Police Department for over 20 years and retired as Chief. He is survived by his wife Melissa; four daughters, Kathy Jo Tucker, Teresa Myers (Dave), Vicki Jordan and Emily Cole; one son, Gary Lilly II (Tiffany); one stepson, Justin Cole; two sisters, Cheryl Counts (Ray) and Tammy Hunt; one brother, Larry Lilly (Teresa); eight grandchildren, Tori Jo Tucker, Haylei Jordan, Rami Tucker, Ryan Myers, Christian Jordan, Tymber Robinson, Ethan Thornton and Trey Lilly; one great grandchild, Kinleigh Tucker and his mother-in-law, Marion Smith and Jennifer Rollins. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, March 21, 2016 at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton with Dave Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Peach Ridge Community Cemetery, Hurricane. Friends may visit from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the funeral home to help with expenses. I knew Gary since he was a police officer in cedar grove, wva then to Milton PD as a police officer myself I got to know Gary quite well he was professional, honest, and a great cop, Rest in Peace brother you are missed but not forgotten.
