1954 - 2016
Rod "Buzzard" Lawhon, 62, of Barboursville, went home to be with the Lord March 23, 2016, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, surrounded by his family. He was born January 2, 1954, in Lincoln County, WV, a son of the late Billy and Betty Berry Lawhon. He was also preceded in death by one brother David Lawhon. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 44 years, Denise Johnson Lawhon; two daughters Kari and Jeff Burdick of Barboursville, and Sarah Punzalan of Barboursville; one son Thomas “T.J.” Lawhon and his fiancé Ana Pena of Barboursville; one sister Kelley Curry of Barboursville; two brothers Jeff Lawhon and Greg Lawhon both of Barboursville; mother-in-law Jean Johnson; five grandsons, who put many smiles on his face: Jackson, Jude, Miles, and Graham Burdick, and Levi Punzalan. He was an adventurous, hard working man, who loved being outdoors. Prior to suffering a stroke in 2002, he owned and ran Lexcon, his excavating and contracting business. He was devoted to his family, loved the beautiful state of Montana, golf, and Harley-Davidsons. He will be greatly missed but we are thankful for the hope we have in Jesus. Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2016, at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor Rick Glass. Burial will be in Swann Cemetery. Visitation will after 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace.
