Naomi Capps Cheshire Nichols, 85, of Silsbee, was received in Heaven March 25, 2016.

Naomi was a colorful character and had a true passion for art. She painted many beautiful landscapes that were proudly featured in her home town library. She was an avid reader of many genres, and also had a love of genealogy. Naomi was a proud and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

She was born on November 30, 1931 in Silsbee, Texas to the late David Columbus Capps and Oma Yielding Capps.

Preceding her in death were her parents, two sisters, Eddie Lois Cleveland and Odessa Brewer, husband William (Bill) Nichols, son David Alfred Cheshire, granddaughter Beverly King, granddaughter Lisa Cheshire and son-in- law Alfred Riley Shafer.

She is survived by her son Wilton Wayne Cheshire and wife Patricia of Kountze, daughter Oma May Dempsey and husband George of Willis, daughter Nanette Elaine Shafer and partner Robert Wayne Creel of Silsbee and daughter-in-law Madolyn Cheshire of Spurger. Naomi was blessed with seventeen grandchildren, thirty eight great grandchildren, two great, great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

To honor Naomi’s life, services will be held Friday, April 1, 2016 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 8633 FM 418, Silsbee, TX 77656. Visitation with the family will begin at 1:00 pm, services beginning at 2:00 pm with burial to follow at Hooks Cemetery, 3868 Hooks Cemetery Loop, Kountze, TX 77625.

Our deepest condolences! We loved Aunt Nink! I grew close to her myself and shared many precious moments with her. She will be missed by our family. Rest in peace sweet Aunt Nink. Our prayers to the grieving family members. Love, Larry, Marsha, Mary and David.
