Melissa Ann Ellis, 38, of Catlettsburg, KY passed away Thursday, April 7, 2016 at home. She was born April 1, 1978 in Huntington, WV daughter of Donna Sparks of Catlettsburg, KY and the late Gregory Lee Ellis. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by maternal grandmother Betty Beatty and paternal grandparents Robert and Betty Ellis. In addition to her mother she is survived by one son MacKenzie Burkett of Louisa, KY; one sister Misty Dawn Hutchinson of Ashland, KY; maternal grandfather Donald “Bud” Waugh of Chesapeake, Ohio; two special nieces Madison and Kelsey; and a host of other family and friends. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio with Pastor Rodney Dishman officiating. Burial will follow in Dock’s Creek Cemetery, Kenova, WV. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio. I am so sorry for your loss Donna. you probably don't know me but I am her neighbor across the street in apt. 50. I saw her every morning and evening going out or coming in. She seemed to be a very sweet girl. I also remember her from the restaurant downtown. Her smiling face and sweet personality will be sorely missed. Thoughts and Prayers for you and your family through this sad time.

Even though I had not seen Melissa in a while I will miss her dearly. I will never forget the day I met her in grade school and she helped me find a book in the library and we were friends from that moment on. She was the type of friend you could pick up where you left off no matter how long it had been since you talked. She will always hold a special place in my heart. I will miss her every day of my life . I love you Melissa

Melissa you were an Angel here on earth and now you are more than one in Heaven. Your beautiful smile and kind words will stay here in our Hearts for ever and yes we will miss them. It breaks my heart that you got your wings at such a young age but I know that you are in a better place and you will suffer no more. Rest In Peace Melissa. I Love you and will always miss you.

Donna Melissa was like a daughter to me. She was a very giving person and every person that came in contact with her loved her for who she was. I will miss her and that beautiful smile every day our prayers go out to you Donna love ya.
