Harold Lloyd Hatfield Click for Condolences      Printable Version
1931 - 2016

Harold Lloyd HatfieldHarold Lloyd Hatfield, Sr., 84, of Milton, passed away at home Monday evening, surrounded by his family. Harold was born July 4, 1931, in Milton, son of the late James Albert and Chloe Clagg Hatfield. In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his sisters, Essie Clagg, Violet Meadows, Myrtle Chapman, and Mary Lillian Hatfield, and by his brothers, James Albert Hatfield, Jr., Robert Hatfield, and Paul Hatfield. Harold was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He was a fun-loving, caring, family man who loved the simple things life has to offer. He enjoyed picking the guitar and singing with his family at the many gatherings they had over the years. Born on the Fourth of July, he always said, “Everyone celebrates my birthday!” He was an avid hunter and took yearly hunting trips with his sons and grandsons, to the cabin in Hardy County, and then later to the farm on Kilgore. He spent many mornings over in town, trading guns, knives, and stories with his buddies. He and his wife have endless wonderful memories of times they spent together, from going on trips to playing cards with friends and family members. When at home, Harold was down in the floor every chance he got, playing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His positive outlook and sense of humor remained with him, even in the hardest of times. He was always there for anyone in the family who needed him. He was a “Papa” to everyone. He will be missed, but remembered, always. Harold is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Ann Templeton Hatfield, a special sister, Lessie Moses, his three children, Harold (Chuck) L. Hatfield, Jr. (and Candi), Valerie Leggett (and Jerry), and Gregory Hatfield (and Rhonda), seven grandchildren: Chad Leggett (Amy), Jeremy Leggett, Jennifer Miller (Jay), Dustin Hatfield, Dylan Hatfield, Carly Taylor (Jeremy), and Colton Hatfield (Emma), 13 great grandchildren, and a host of sister/brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins who love him dearly. The family will have a private funeral service, per his request. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace.

Gonna miss my friend! The singing, playing& listening to all of them. Harold had a great voice like no other. It was natural. He was the leader of a wonderful family. I know because I have known them all my almost 58 years.. Even long times past I was always treated with kindness or sternness when ever I needed it. Heaven called him home. Because he'd run his race & did his job. Now he gets his new body sings for his Lord God & Savior! He'll always be around because when I look at his kids or grandchildren I'll see a little part of Harold in them. Love to them all.
