1928 - 2016
Melva L. Wood, 87 years of age, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother of Chesapeake, Ohio, passed in the evening of Monday April 11, 2016. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years Robert L Wood, her parents Arnold and Ulah Ellis, and one sister Sherline, and one daughter-in-law, Donna Lou. She is survived by two sons, Robert A. and Elmer W. (Bill); a daughter-in-law Sharon; four grandchildren, William K., Erin, Melinda and Leslie; eleven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Melva graduated from Chesapeake High School in 1946, and worked at a younger age but decided to be a stay home wife and mother when her children were born. She spent her entire life living in Chesapeake and enjoyed spending time with her husband and family. Visitation will be held Saturday April 16, 2016 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM with graveside service following at Rome Cemetery Proctorville, Ohio at 12:30 PM by Pastor Duane Smith.
